Job Summary:
As a security researcher, you would be expected to conduct formal tests on web-based applications, networks, and other types of computer systems on a regular basis and research on new ways to exploit systems. You will also be expected to work on security assessments of servers, computer systems, and networks. Along with these tests and assessments, you'll be conducting regular security trainings and audits from both a logical/theoretical standpoint and a technical/hands-on standpoint.
Experience: 1-5 years
Technical Skill set required as below:
Knowledge of programming languages such as C or C++ or python or perl or ruby
Knowledge of OS concepts
Knowledge of networking concepts and open standards
Self-initiated security research
Vulnerability discovery and bug hunting
Attacking and bypassing security software i.e. IDSs, firewall, antivirus, security filters
Blackbox/greybox/whitebox security testing
OWASP Top 10
Writing exploits
Justifying a penetration test to management and customers
Defensive techniques
Secure SDLC consulting
Server Hardening
Creating security policies
Corporate security Training on secure coding and Pen testing
Good communication, presentation and teaching skills
Good documentation and reporting skills
