We have a requisition from our Bangalore based product Company FaceTime Communication looking for Research Engineer.
Position :Application Research Engineer
This is a research position for writing network signatures for a wide variety of network based applications. These signatures are used by FaceTime gateway products to detect and enforce policies on different network applications.
Hard Skills
• 2 to 3 years of experience in application research like network application signatures (snort etc.). Experience in areas like Anti Virus, Adware, spyware, research is acceptable.
• Should have good understanding of TCP/IP, UDP and how applications use them. Experience in sniffing tools like WireShark, Ethereal etc. is a must.
• Should have knowledge of at least one scripting language (TCL, Perl, Python, Shell, awk, etc.) to develop tools to be used for research.
• Strong interest in a research career and proven experience in meeting research targets.
• Should understand research processes.
• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) types of certification is highly desirable.
• Should be an expert internet user and be creative about how to search for applications.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Soft Skills and Qualification
• Must be an engineering/MCA graduate with consistent academic background.
• Good written and spoken communication skills are a requirement.
• Must exhibit high energy and curiosity and ability to learn.
